Submitting a protocol for review

If you are using live vertebrate animals for research or teaching activities at Indiana University, you are required to submit a protocol for review.

A protocol is a detailed set of activities for the project you’re proposing, supported by evidence from other research and from preliminary investigations. Your protocol must be approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee before work can begin.

Where you plan to do your research or teaching activity will determine which committee reviews your protocol.
