Training & Workshops

Education for responsible, successful research

University-wide learning opportunities help inform researchers and research staff about key areas of research administration, development, and compliance.

Most of these opportunities can be done online. Online training is available for learning how to use IU research tools and systems, such as CITI, KC, and Pivot, and our quick guides walk you through step-by-step instructions on specific research topics and tasks.

Be sure to also review the training requirements for six of the seven compliance areas, and fulfill these requirements for yourself and your research team.

Access IU research webinars and workshops on Kaltura

Online webinars and workshops from IU's research offices and units are conveniently gathered in one channel on IU's Kaltura video system. These opportunities cover a variety of helpful topics such as how to use university research resources and current priorities of federal funding agencies such as NIH and NEH.

Workshops through IU Expand and workshops at IUPUI

IU Expand is a portal for the IU community to enroll in non-credit and certificate-based courses. Many offerings are self-paced, self-study courses, while others involve online or in-person sessions. Research-related training on IU Expand is offered in three categories: research administration, research compliance, and research development. IUPUI also offers in-person workshops on research and proposal development for faculty and graduate students. Explore training opportunities using the panels below.
