The Quarry
The Quarry program is a partnership between IU’s Innovation & Commercialization Office (IU ICO) and IU Ventures. The Quarry provides IU faculty an opportunity to explore commercialization of their work through new ventures. IU has a rich history of successful companies based on technology developed on our campuses, and the Quarry seeks to help write the next chapter.

Indiana Center for Biomedical Innovation (ICBI)
The ICBI houses startup companies that have developed on the basis of innovations from the Indiana University School of Medicine. Funding and mentorship support the foundation of early-stage technologies and the transition from early innovation to commercialization.

What comes next?
The results of the assessment will determine the next steps of the process. If a discovery has commercial potential, the next step in the commercialization process is to secure legal protection for it and seek to license the technology to a company or startup. If deemed acceptable, release using open source or creative commons licenses.
