The HRPP is excited to announce that Kuali Protocols is now live and available for submissions to the IRB and HRPP. Kuali Protocols replaces the KC IRB system. All IRB submissions, including new study submissions, amendments, renewals, reportable events, and study closures must be created and submitted in Kuali Protocols. Kuali Protocols can be accessed via One.IU using the same task previously used to access KC IRB or by searching for “Kuali Protocols” or “IRB” in the One.IU search bar.
While the new system is more user-friendly and intuitive than KC IRB, we encourage you to review the instructional guides posted on the HRPP website to familiarize yourself with the new system. An on-demand training video highlighting system functionality and important process changes is also available. See the Kuali Protocols webhub for more information and other training opportunities.
The webhub will be updated in the coming days and weeks with the latest information about the system, including tips and tricks and frequently asked questions. Visit often to stay up to date. Also, watch your email for our regular quarterly ORC newsletter which will be sent in mid-February and will include additional updates and information.
Finally, thank you to our development partners in UITS and to the research community. This transition would not have been possible without your support and flexibility, particularly over the last few weeks as you delayed non-urgent submissions and quickly responded to pre-review enabling us to approve as many submissions as possible prior to the system transition.
As always, please contact us with any questions or concerns at irb@iu.edu.
