The Indiana University Office of Research Administration (ORA) has released five new internal budget templates for use on sponsored projects. We highly recommend their use as they incorporate IU approved rates and automated calculations. Key features of the templates are listed below. Template Key Features

FIVE YEAR FEDERAL

• Automatically calculates indirect cost based on standard modified total direct cost exclusions.
• NIH style format with fringe located next to salary requested
• Four subcontractor tabs that feed into the Indiana University tab
• NIH direct cost limit calculator
• Base salary inflation table

 

THREE YEAR FEDERAL

• Automatically calculates indirect cost based on standard modified total direct cost exclusions.
• NSF style format with fringe below salary calculations
• Base salary inflation table

 

THREE YEAR WITH COST SHARE (CS) NON-FEDERAL

• Automatically calculates indirect cost based on standard modified total direct cost exclusions.
• Can be used for Federal or Non-federal projects with cost-sharing
• Yearly totals for Sponsor Request and Cost Sharing (IU Portion)

TWO YEAR NON-FEDERAL

• Automatically calculates indirect cost based on total direct cost

 

MONTHLY NON-FEDERAL

• Allows for full year or partial year salary and effort calculations
• Automatically calculates indirect cost based on total direct cost
