The federal government previously announced it will transition from the DUNS Number towards a Unique Entity ID (UEI) as the primary means of entity identification for federal awards government-wide.
NIH is requiring the use of UEI on all applications due on or after
January 25, 2022. All other federal sponsors are requiring the use of UEI on applications beginning in April, 2022.
We are encouraging use of Indiana University’s UEI on all proposal applications in anticipation of sponsors’ mandatory implementation dates.
