ORA has developed several budget templates for use on a variety of submission types which provide units with consistent IU formulas/rates, effort calculations, F&A calculations and also offer a university-wide streamlined budget review. As previously announced in Research Administrator Team (RAT) meetings, required use of the budget templates for a specific subset of proposal types goes into effect September 1, 2021. The use of the templates is now required for direct and pass-through National Institutes of Health (NIH) submissions requiring an R&R budget along with National Science Foundation (NSF) submissions. The templates have been available on our website for several months, and we appreciate all the early adopters who now use them regularly. Please note that at this time the templates are optional for all other submission types but still highly encouraged.
