Gary Grumbling is a manager at the Indiana University Office of Innovation & Commercialization. He works to evaluate inventions, facilitate the patent process, prepare and negotiate licenses, and build relationships with university researchers and industry contacts. Grumbling works predominantly with technologies developed at Indiana University Bloomington.
Grumbling’s research experience is in Drosophila development, genetics, bioinformatics, and biological databases. Prior to joining IU, Gary worked as a biocurator for FlyBase, a database of Drosophila genes and genomes.
Grumbling has a B.A. in biology from University of Colorado Boulder and a Ph. D. in molecular genetics from The Ohio State University.
