Kuali Coeus (KC) IRB

Using the Kuali Coeus (KC) IRB system

Kuali Coeus (KC) IRB is the IU-hosted web-based system for data entry and management of IRB review of protocols. All IRB submissions, and changes to existing IRB protocols, are made using KC IRB. IU’s Human Subjects Office also uses KC IRB to manage your submissions. You will need to use KC IRB if:

  • You are the principal investigator for a research study using human subjects.
  • You are creating and/or submitting an IRB protocol on your own or on behalf of another investigator.
  • You want to receive notifications of actions taken on your KC IRB protocol (e.g., approvals or renewal reminders) by the IRB or the Human Subjects Office.
  • You need to view study approval dates or other study information for a particular research protocol or group of protocols.
Access the KC IRB system through One.iu.edu

If you do not have an IU computing account

If you do not already have an IU computing account, the Human Subjects Office can facilitate one for you. Visit the IU Affiliate Account webpage and complete a request for an account. Once your account is created, the office will contact you with additional instructions.
