If your Fiscal Officer has received approval for you application from the chair, dean, or unit head, your application may be approved at this point; if not, the application will route to the department chair, dean, or unit head for final approval before being submitted to OVPR. |

REQUIRED SUPPORTING MATERIALS FOR EACH GRANT
Save the required documents as separate files on your computer. To upload the attachments to the electronic application, use the "Browse" button to locate and select each of the saved files. Use the "save" button (letters in red, located directly to the right under "Action") to add each file to your application. - Budget submitted using the Work on your budget function found on the online application form
- 2-3 page Curriculum Vitae of the Faculty applicant (in the case of individual faculty applicants) or the center, institute, or museum Director (in the case of directors applying on behalf of their units)
- Brief letter of support from the department chair (in the case of individual faculty applicants)
- Brief letter of support from the center, institute, or museum director (in the case of individual faculty applicants)
- Brief letter of support from a knowledgeable colleague (in the case of directors applying on behalf of their units)
Emergency Grant-in-Aid

Faculty Research Support Program (FRSP)
PDFs are preferred to ensure that application formatting is not lost. Email, fax or mail letters of support to Donna Carter's attention.

- Budget submitted using the Work on your budget function on the online application form (The FRSP program must be selected in drop down box ”to which program are you applying?” in order to function.)
- Letter from the chair, dean or head of the academic program/unit that addresses the intellectual aspects of the proposal, the budgetary needs of the project, and the ability of the investigator to complete the project on time. For resubmission of internal proposals, original letters may be submitted.
- Letter from an expert in the field (not necessarily from Indiana University) that assesses the significance of the project and the likelihood of its success.
- Curriculum vitae (3-page maximum each) for no more than 4 key IU personnel (PI plus 3 IU collaborators). For Type 2 proposals, additional IU Collaborators should be listed in a separate attachment with school, department, center, etc. included.
- "Research Account Balances” form completed by the Fiscal Office for each PI and IU Collaborator listed on the application (available as a download: http://ovpr.indiana.edu/funding/prog_frsp.shtml)
Grant-in-Aid
- Project description (4-page maximum)

- Project description (12 point font; single spaced, 5-page maximum excluding references) comprised of the following:
- Budget submitted using the Work on your budget function on the online application form
- Budget justification and timeline: Explain why IUCRG funding is essential for securing external funding of the project. Please note that budget reasonableness is an important component of the review criterion.
- Letters of support from all PIs’ department chairs or unit heads (e.g. department, division, center, institute, etc.)
- Letters of support from all PIs’ deans or equivalent
- Specific agency and RFPs or parent announcements through which future funding will be sought (ex: NIH, R01 “Bioinformatics in Health Disparity Research” or NSF, “Collaborative Research in Computational Neuroscience”)
- Biosketch or brief Curriculum vitae for each investigator, showing current and pending support. Proposed projects must not overlap with current funding. (4-page maximum each)

Retired Faculty Grant-in-Aid

- Detailed budget in any logical form (need NOT be submitted using the Work on your budget function)

To retrieve your saved data:
Login to OneStart.iu.edu. In the upper-right corner of the page, to the left of the Search box, click on "action list". There, in your action list, will be your application which you can continue to work on. Then, when you're ready to submit the application, choose the "Complete" button.To submit your application:
If your application is complete, use the "submit" button to send your application to the fiscal officer for approval or, if your application has been previously saved, use the "complete" button to send your application.
