The Biostatistics and Data Management Core (BDMC) of the Indiana University Cancer Center assumes statistical and data management responsibilities and associated administrative functions, education, and training. The core collaborates with investigators in the planning, design, development, and analysis of the full range of cancer research projects, including clinical trials, cancer control studies, behavioral research, and basic laboratory science. It participates in every level of research, from study planning and monitoring to data analysis and dissemination of results. The specific aims of the BDMC are to: 1) provide broad statistical support to IUCC investigators; 2) assemble the necessary information technology infrastructure; and 3) provide training and education on its use, and to facilitate communications between the IUCC, other Indiana University groups, other Cancer Centers, the NCI, and the scientific community at large.
